Role Overview:

This role is quite plainly to be the embodiment of BLIC and all it stands for, the living heart and soul of the community. You collaborate directly with the BLIC Director and will inhabit the front line of interaction with all the constituents that enter, enjoy and leave the space. You will rapidly identify connections among people and organizations and be able to understand and communicate all the relationships in the Our Dream School ecosystem. You will foster a sense of belonging among those who enter and occupy the space as well as a clear sense of its ethos and values. You must have a native empathy and understanding of local language, culture, values, traditions and humor. Although by nature much of your attention will be dedicated to the Full-Year Program, you will also strive to create community with co-workers, parents, partners and visitors to the space.

Your role will involve:

  • Champion the entry area of BLIC as well as the near outdoor area.
  • Assist the Director in the day to day in the relationship building within the community.
  • Greet and say goodbye to each community member by name.
  • Maintain basic records of people that enter the space / CRM.
  • Understand parent ‘triage’ and channel interactions accordingly.
  • Helping providers to help us.
  • Handle shipping and receiving.
  • Manage phone interactions.
  • In quiet times, work on communication of BLIC everyday happenings.
  • Participate and assist in the coordination and communication of events.

You will bring:

  • Total fluency in English and Spanish, Catalan an important plus.
  • Experience working and interacting with young people.
  • Experience with events and hospitality.
  • World outlook and global experience.
  • Service oriented leadership and excellent phone skills.
  • Personal characteristics:
  • Total ‘people person’ and crazy name remembering skills.
  • Flexibility, to handle shifting priorities and be highly intuitive.
  • Able to initiate, improvise and negotiate the daily micro-events slalom.
  • High level collaboration skills, making things fun.
  • Stable, calm and confident, available & accessible to all.
